Your Place in History.
In 1902, when Martha Berry was first inspired to build a schoolhouse on the grounds of her family’s estate in Rome, Georgia, it was because she saw a chance to address an unmet need in a setting of rare natural beauty. That same spirit of inspiration is alive today at The Spires. Here, surrounded by the energy and curiosity of a college community and miles of unspoiled wilderness, the needs of a different population are being addressed. Here retirees who appreciate the culture of the institution and the natural abundance of its location are writing a new chapter in Berry College history.
