Also of historic significance is the Hiram Colored School. In 1912, Julius Rosenwald, President of Sears, Roebuck and Company, established the Rosenwald Fund to assist in the construction of public schools for African American students in the South. The Hiram Colored School is one of the 242 Rosenwald Schools constructed in Georgia. It is one of seven Rosenwald Schools listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Hiram is also known for its small, but charming downtown featuring local shops, restaurants and green space, which gives Hiram a cozy small-town feel. From classic Southern comfort food to international cuisine, their local restaurants serve up delicious dishes with hometown hospitality.

The town also hosts several community-centered events, including holiday celebrations, seasonal festivals and community gatherings — giving Hiram a vibrant, festive vibe.

The Silver Comet Trail, initially the route of the “Silver Comet” passenger train, runs through Hiram and is a popular paved, multi-use trail for walking, biking and enjoying nature.

Another outdoor gem is the Ben Hill Strickland Sr. Memorial Park. This lovely community park features a pond, walking paths, picnic pavilions with grills, playgrounds and benches. It’s a perfect spot whether you want a peaceful stroll, feeding the ducks, enjoying a picnic or just sitting and taking in the surroundings.

Creekside Golf Club is a semi-private golf facility and event venue located in Hiram. Established in 1999, it is known for its scenic 18-hole course featuring Bermuda fairways and Crenshaw Bentgrass greens, offering a blend of beauty and challenge shaped by the local countryside.
